Is this live or recorded?
Recorded, and run like real coursework: each module ends with a 10-question knowledge retention check (80% to pass, unlimited retries) and one build session that becomes a real asset — your digitals, your rate card, your one-page agreement. The Free Tryout opens Module 01. Getting Warm runs 01–05. Hottie Material and The Star unlock all ten, then The Forge is your graduation. The Star includes a 1:1 portfolio review, scheduled by email after enrollment.
What do I get in the Free Tryout?
Module 01 (Camera presence & movement) and one consultation / audition with the Academy team, so you know where you stand before you spend anything. Tap Start free tryout to open our casting app (it opens in a new tab) and sign up there — we email you your module and your consultation time. It's free for everybody, 18+, and it never counts against you — applying and being considered for the roster is always free.
Can I upgrade later? What does the $199 credit do?
Yes. Use the upgrade box in the pricing section so your credit is applied — buying a higher tier from the main cards charges that card's price with no credit. An upgrade costs the program's price at the time minus what you paid. At today's launch prices: Getting Warm comes with a $199 upgrade credit — everything you paid counts: go to Hottie Material for $300 (instead of $499) or to The Star for $800 (instead of $999). From Hottie Material, your full $499 is credited toward The Star — you pay $500. Enter the email you enrolled with.
What is The Forge?
The graduation practical for Hottie Material and The Star. After modules 06–10, you're invited to a live video shoot and on-set test in our studio, scored on everything the program taught. Pass it and you graduate as a Hottie Freelance Model with access to the Hottie App. It's the exam for the course you paid for — not an audition, and never a fee.
Does enrolling get me on the Hotties NYC roster?
No. The Academy is training. Forge graduates, and Course Only members who complete the course, get the Hottie App — the gig board, discovery and booking tools, and networking — and every gig there is free to apply for and never guaranteed. Getting Warm covers modules 01–05 and doesn't reach The Forge; upgrade with your $199 credit if that's the goal. We keep training and roster decisions apart on purpose.
What is the Hottie Library?
Our library of reading and exercises for students — guides to read and drills to practice between modules. Hottie Material and The Star get access, and the library keeps growing as we add to it. See what's planned.
What does the personal manager on The Star actually do?
You're assigned one named person inside the Academy — not just the CEO — who books and coordinates your 1:1 portfolio review, your shoots and your member benefits, keeps you on schedule through the modules and The Forge, and is your point of contact for anything you need from the program. It's a program role: they are not your talent agent or career manager, they don't take a commission, and no booking, gig or placement is promised.
How do the partner discounts work?
Hottie Material gets 20% off every partner brand listed in the add-ons; The Star gets up to 50% off every partner brand and service — both for 12 months from enrollment, on services you choose to buy. Per-ride and per-rental caps on S Tier Solutions transport still apply. Discounts never apply to bookings, jobs or roster decisions.
What do Hottie Freelance Models actually get?
Graduate The Forge and you're a Hottie Freelance Model: the Hottie App — first look at roster-selected gigs, bookings and discovery — plus priority access to local and abroad events, clubs and outings. Partner discounts come from your program (20% on Hottie Material, up to 50% on The Star), not from graduating. Gigs are always free to apply for and never guaranteed.
When are the shoots?
Comp card shoots and The Forge run on our NYC studio calendar — after you enroll you get the next dates by email and pick yours. Your lifestyle and concept studio shoots are booked separately around your schedule and the crew's.
Do I need to be in New York?
The modules are fully online. The shoots and The Forge are in-person in NYC — if you can't travel, email us before enrolling and we'll sort a remote alternative where we can.
Refunds?
For the one-time programs, no. All sales are final — you're paying for studio time, coaching and edits that get scheduled the moment you enroll. If you can't make a shoot date, email us and we'll move you to the next Saturday at no charge. Course Only ($29/month) works differently: cancel any time and you aren't charged again; you keep your lessons until the end of the billing period you paid for, and partial months aren't prorated. Course Only's cancellation and refund terms are in its refund policy.
What is Course Only?
The ten modules on their own for $29 a month — watch, build, the knowledge retention checks and the final exam, self-paced, at learn.hottieacademy.com. Finish all ten modules and pass the final exam and you also get access to the Hottie App for networking and gigs (gigs are free to apply for and never guaranteed). There are no shoots, no consultations and no Forge practical, and the monthly payments aren't credited toward a program. After checkout you get a welcome email within minutes with your lesson link; sign in with the email you paid with. Cancel any time from your dashboard there.
